About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring for a Claims Representative Internship for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. You will work on-site as you learn to investigate claims and provide support to our policyholders and agents.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and assemble facts to determine policy coverage.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and analyze legal liability.
- Issue claims payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Service the needs of agents, policyholders, and other parties.
- Handle investigations through phone calls, mail, and on-site visits.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your knowledge.
- Work toward claim resolution, potentially attending arbitrations, mediations, or trials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to resolve complex issues and handle multiple assignments.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and interpret data.

- Location: Lake Elmo, MN.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $22.00 per hour plus bonus eligibility.
