About the role#
This is a 12-week, full-time paid internship program designed to provide hands-on experience in internal audit within the construction industry. Interns will collaborate with accounting teams across various operating divisions to perform risk-based testing, review internal controls, and assess management assertions. The program runs from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with complex audits of major construction and maintenance projects to evaluate management processes and policy compliance.
- Develop workpapers and logically document detailed testing attributes.
- Conduct interviews, record findings, and update audit program steps.
- Conclude on control assessments based on testing results.
- Meet with project personnel at job sites to analyze construction performance.
- Travel approximately 10% of the time to visit active project sites.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A targeted graduation date between December 2026 and December 2027.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on-site.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work effectively in project teams.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
