About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will build and extend the systems that ingest, store, and query telemetry streams from our satellite fleet in real time. You will work at the intersection of data engineering and space operations to turn raw satellite signals into actionable insights for our mission operators. This role contributes to both commercial and government programs.
What you'll do#
- Design and build monitoring rules and anomaly detection capabilities for our telemetry data platform.
- Contribute to the data platform by building client libraries, data pipelines, query interfaces, and APIs.
- Collaborate with mission operations and engineering teams to define monitoring requirements and data needs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience with databases such as Postgres or time-series databases.
- Understanding of API design including REST, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers.
- Experience with time-series data or telemetry systems.
- Experience with async Python programming.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
