About the role#
Astranis is hiring a Software Defined Radio Hardware Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site, paid role based in San Francisco, California. Interns work on meaningful projects alongside our engineering team, with opportunities to contribute to hardware and software that may fly on our satellites.
What you'll do#
- Design, simulate, implement, and test internally developed software defined radio hardware.
- Bringup and debug hardware in the lab using various instruments.
- Write code to evaluate performance and automate testing of satellite hardware.
- Integrate systems into the spacecraft by working with the broader team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test PCBA hardware from scratch through projects, competitions, or personal work.
- A solid foundation in at least one of these areas: analog, digital, mixed signal, or RF design.
- A genuine interest in hardware development.
