About the role#
This internship is a twelve-week, full-time position for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program. You will work on hardware development for spacecraft, contributing to projects that may fly on our satellites. This is an hourly role based in San Francisco.
What you'll do#
- Design, simulate, implement, and measure passive and active RF sub-systems at microwave frequencies, including LNAs, power amplifiers, up/down convertors, filters, and oscillators.
- Integrate these sub-systems into the spacecraft while working alongside our engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in electrical engineering, physics, applied physics, or a related technical field.
- Deep knowledge of RF concepts like transmission lines, impedance matching, filter design, and active RF circuits.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing RF hardware for microwave frequencies.
- Proficiency with RF simulation tools such as ADS or HFSS.
- Experience using spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers for RF measurements.
- Interest in hardware development and hands-on design.
- Bonus qualifications include knowledge of antennas and electromagnetics, experience with Software Defined Radios (SDR), PCB design using Altium, and Python for test automation.

- Compensation: $29.00 per hour.
