About the role#
The Millstream Student Trainee program offers hands-on exposure to manufacturing operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, and production. You will rotate through different functional areas while working under the direct supervision of qualified staff. This program helps you build technical knowledge and workplace skills while exploring career paths in a manufacturing environment. You will observe daily processes, assist with approved tasks, and complete a supervised project with guidance from mentors.
What you'll do#
- Participate in training and leadership development activities.
- Rotate through production, maintenance, engineering, and quality departments.
- Learn manufacturing processes, equipment functions, and quality requirements.
- Assist with equipment checks, coolant-system maintenance, line checks, and preventive maintenance.
- Observe equipment troubleshooting, repair procedures, tool presetting, and tool-change procedures.
- Gain exposure to bracket lines, body lines, and line-side engineering applications.
- Follow standardized work instructions and safety requirements.
- Identify unsafe conditions using the Stop, Call, Wait process.
- Complete an assigned project under the guidance of program mentors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Senior in Millstream.
- Interest in manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, skilled trades, quality, or production.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and rotate through multiple departments.
- Ability to work safely and responsibly in an industrial environment.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- No prior manufacturing experience is required.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
