    About the role#

    Ascend is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Intern to support our tax professionals in San Jose. This internship provides hands-on experience in tax preparation, compliance, and planning. You will work on meaningful projects and gain industry insights while receiving mentorship from experienced staff.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in the preparation of tax returns (1040/1041) and compile supporting documentation for filings.
    • Conduct research on tax regulations and assist in applying findings to specific client situations.
    • Support the tax team with various projects and administrative tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Adobe PDF.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work a minimum of 25 hours per week.

    • Location: San Jose, California.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January through April).
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $25 per hour.
