About the role#
This co-op position supports the suture prototyping team in Ave Maria, Florida. You will work on-site to help develop and test new suture technologies. The role involves turning concepts into functional prototypes and supporting manufacturing techniques. You will work 40 hours per week from January 2027 through June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers and prototype team members.
- Develop mechanical fixtures for suture production.
- Run data analysis to improve existing processes.
- Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions.
- Support prototype automation efforts.
- Develop and maintain suture and textile prototypes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in an engineering degree program or graduation within the last six months.
- Preference for Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering backgrounds.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech.
- Skill in resolving technical issues.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with prototyping, 3D printing, data analysis tools, technical writing, and design of experiments (DOE) is preferred.
