About the role#
The Ceramics Internship provides hands-on experience in studio operations, ceramics education, and public program development. You will support a variety of ceramic-focused activities including classes, workshops, artist demonstrations, and open studio sessions. This role offers exposure to the daily operations of a working studio while helping you develop skills in materials management, studio safety, and equipment maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Support ceramics public programs, including classes, workshops, artist demonstrations, and museum-wide events.
- Prepare and maintain studio materials such as clay, glazes, and tools.
- Perform studio operations including clay recycling, glaze mixing, and kiln loading and unloading.
- Research and propose ideas for future ceramic programming.
- Contribute to the creation of engaging and inclusive ceramic arts experiences for visitors of all ages and skill levels.
- Interact with students and community members in a professional manner.
What you'll need#
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Enrollment in an accredited program or graduation within the last three years to qualify for bachelor's or master's pay rates.
