About the role#
The Software Engineer Intern works on projects for various business partners. You will be involved in every phase of the systems development life cycle, from initial design to final implementation. This is a part-time position with hours generally between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
What you'll do#
- Write, test, and implement code as part of a project team.
- Work with other interns, analysts, and teams to plan project designs.
- Research new technology skills and problem-solving methods.
- Provide time estimates for tasks and update stakeholders on your progress.
- Take part in special projects and use available training resources.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Less than one year of prior programming experience is preferred.
- A working knowledge of object-oriented programming is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire for active learning.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and initiative in your daily work.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, averaging fewer than 30 hours per week.
- Travel: Minimal, ranging from 0 to 25 percent.
