About the role#
The Intern, Solution Design and Implementation supports various departments by conducting projects and processes. You will work on complex supply chain solutions that span transportation modes, logistics, and technology across all ArcBest business units.
What you'll do#
- Complete fast track training on transportation, logistics, and supply chain.
- Job shadow various roles within Enterprise Customer Solutions during your first 4 weeks.
- Manage a key project focused on supply chain solutions, such as consolidation, pool distribution, mode optimization, and process improvement.
- Develop solutions to meet the requirements of departments, customers, and ArcBest subsidiary companies.
- Work in a team setting to reach department goals.
- Maintain a positive attitude in an intense environment.
- Handle other duties and projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain and Logistics, Business, or an Engineering major (preferred).
- Completion of your junior academic year is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Availability for travel as needed.
- No prior experience is required.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas.
- Work modality: On-site.
- This is a part-time position averaging fewer than 30 hours per week.
- Typical work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional irregular hours based on workload.
- Travel requirements are minimal, ranging from 0% to 25%.
