About the role#
As a Robotics Software Engineer intern, you will focus on research and development for autonomous systems. You will work on projects involving computer vision, object recognition, and path planning to help build new technologies.
What you'll do#
- Manage a research project focused on key R&D problems.
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and design of software modules and architecture.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks to review, develop, or analyze operational processes.
- Work within a team to reach department goals.
- Maintain a positive attitude in a demanding environment.
- Handle other duties and projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with robots, such as mobile robots, quadrotors, robotic arms, self-driving cars, or ground robots.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Experience developing in a Linux environment.
- Working knowledge of ROS, RViz, Gazebo, OpenCV, and PCL.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts.
- Strong academic and leadership achievements.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Generally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional irregular hours.
- Status: Paid, part-time position.
