About the role#
Arc is building electric marine technology to update the industry. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join our team for the summer of 2027 to help build our platform for commercial and consumer vessels. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role based in Torrance, California.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to our boat infotainment unit, mobile app, backend systems, or boat firmware.
- Own a project from start to finish that drives our business forward.
- Work closely with the software team and other internal stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with at least one general purpose programming language.
- Strong software development fundamentals.
- Experience using standard development tools like an IDE, git, and the command line.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate your progress and work status effectively.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience in at least one of these areas: frontend or mobile development, backend development using Python or Typescript and AWS, or firmware development using STM32 microcontrollers.
- A track record of successful internships.
- Enthusiasm for boating and clean energy.
