About the role#
Arc is building electric powertrains and vessels to update the marine industry. As a Powertrain Electrical Engineer Intern, you will join our Electrical Engineering team to support hardware development, testing, and production. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site at our headquarters in Torrance, California, running from June 14 to August 20, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Diagnose technical problems and design hardware.
- Prototype new designs and assist with high-volume manufacturing processes.
- Design tools for production end of line testing.
- Build and test components in a hands-on environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Hands-on experience with circuit building.
- A solid grasp of electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with lab equipment like DMMs and oscilloscopes.
- Familiarity with electrical simulation software such as LTSPICE or PSPICE.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An eagerness to learn and adapt.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with CAN-bus devices, Python, data analysis, or FEA.
- Background in high-performance electric vehicles, solar cars, or Formula SAE.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Enthusiasm for boating and clean energy.
Location & details#
- Location: Torrance, CA (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 14 - August 20).
- Compensation: $40 per hour.
