About the role#
Arc is building electric powertrains and vessels to modernize the marine industry. As an Electrical Hardware Engineering Intern, you will join our team to support the development of our hardware platforms. This is a full-time, paid position based at our headquarters in Torrance, California, for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support schematic capture, PCB layout, and design documentation for new and existing hardware.
- Test and validate electrical assemblies through bench bring-up, measurements, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineers to prototype, debug, and iterate on circuit designs and system integrations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, with an expected graduation date of Summer 2028 or earlier.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with circuit design and simulation tools such as Altium, KiCad, or LTspice.
- Hands-on experience with electronics testing tools including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate your progress effectively.
- A track record of successful internships.
- Enthusiasm for boating and clean energy.
Location & details#
- Location: Torrance, California (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $40 per hour.
- Benefits: Includes boat days, 401(k) access, PPE and ergonomic reimbursement, relocation assistance, and daily onsite meals.
