About the role#
This position offers students an opportunity to work within campus food service and catering operations. You will support daily food preparation and service while gaining experience in a professional environment. This is a paid, full-time summer 2026 role based on-site in North Charleston, South Carolina. Students from various academic backgrounds, including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Psychology, Nutrition, Communications, Human Resources, Marketing, and Logistics, are encouraged to apply.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Store food properly according to established safety standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations like prep tables and service counters.
- Serve food to customers and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Follow safety policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and sanitation.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide service to guests and co-workers.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to obtain or hold a food safety certification.
- Guest service skills.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or use personal protective equipment as required.
