About the role#
The RedZone Student Worker Lead manages daily food operations at Western Kentucky University. You will supervise staff, oversee food production, and ensure the facility follows all safety and quality standards. This role requires a blend of leadership, organization, and hands-on support to keep the kitchen and service areas running smoothly.
What you'll do#
- Create and manage staff schedules.
- Supervise, train, and mentor food service employees.
- Monitor food production to ensure safety and quality standards.
- Track inventory levels on a weekly basis.
- Evaluate employee performance and foster teamwork.
- Assist with catering events, including occasional nights and weekends.
- Fill in for absent staff members when necessary.
- Maintain equipment logs and perform preventative maintenance checks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of how to run an efficient, cost-effective program.
- Skills to resolve interpersonal situations and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Ability to complete a sanitation course within your first year.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic.
- Majors preferred: Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Nutrition, Health Administration, Kinesiology, or Public Health.
