About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work under the direct supervision of a licensed school counselor. You will support students and their families by providing counseling services and consultation. The role focuses on promoting student engagement, motivation, and adjustment across school, home, and community environments.
What you'll do#
- Provide counseling services to students and parents or guardians.
- Help students identify their interests, skills, and academic progress.
- Support the scheduling, registration, and implementation of My Career and Academic Plan (MyCAP).
- Attend individualized education plan (IEP) meetings as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program for school counseling.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and mental health personnel.
- Commitment to adhering to professional ethical standards.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
