About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to experience life as a consultant in the Risk, Forensics & Compliance practice at Ankura. You will function like a full-time Associate, gaining first-hand experience in forensic accounting, investigations, litigation, and dispute advisory. You will work closely with professionals ranging from Associates to Senior Managing Directors on diverse client engagements.
What you'll do#
- Perform accounting-related analyses and convey results to internal project leads.
- Apply financial and analytical skills to client issues, including transactional data review, fund tracing, and damage calculations.
- Assist with the design and implementation of investigations and project workplans.
- Develop analyses to assess complex fact patterns and prepare reports summarizing your findings.
- Document and maintain detailed workpaper records, including methodologies and information sources.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality work within established budgets and timeframes.
- Engage in day-to-day client activities and build productive relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Participate in pitches, proposals, networking events, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Interest in pursuing a CPA license upon graduation.
- Technical understanding of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and SEC rules and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general comfort with Microsoft Office.
- Strong quantitative, qualitative, research, and mathematical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability when handling multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. (this role does not offer sponsorship).
- Willingness to travel as needed.
