About the role#
AMT Engineering is hiring a Transportation Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a paid, full-time position based in our Pittsburgh office. You will work under the supervision of project managers and team leaders, gaining experience alongside our engineering staff. This role offers the potential to transition into a full-time junior engineer position after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Support project tasks such as research, cost estimates, procurement, and regulatory reviews.
- Manage, evaluate, and present project data.
- Assist in the preparation of plans, reports, and specifications for clients.
- Complete field assignments as needed.
- Collaborate with mentors and teammates who will support your development.
- Handle other related duties as they arise.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor or Associates degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or a related field.
- You hold a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with engineering software like AutoCAD, MathCAD, or Bentley Microstation is a plus.
