About the role#
AMT Engineering is hiring a Transportation Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work in our Charleston, South Carolina office on a full-time, paid basis. This role offers the potential to transition into a full-time Junior Engineer position after you graduate. Throughout the summer, you will work alongside project managers, team leaders, and other engineering staff.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project tasks including regulatory reviews, cost estimates, research, and procurement support.
- Manage, enter, and present project data.
- Help prepare reports, plans, and specifications for our clients.
- Participate in field assignments as needed.
- Collaborate with mentors and teammates who will support your professional growth.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are pursuing a Bachelor or Associates degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- You maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills and solid problem-solving abilities.
- You are detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with engineering software like AutoCAD, MathCAD, or Bentley Microstation is preferred.
