About the role#
Ampersand Biomedicines is hiring a Data Engineering Co-op to join our Computational Biology team. You will work on designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines that support our research and analytics efforts. This role involves integrating scientific data from various laboratory and research systems while collaborating with data scientists and analysts.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and research teams to define requirements.
- Model and transform data into clean, queryable tables.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations to share findings with scientists and leadership.
- Implement data-quality checks and best practices to ensure reliability and reproducibility.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field at Northeastern University.
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Redshift.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

- This position is based on-site in Boston, Massachusetts.
- This is a full-time paid co-op role.
