About the role#
Ampersand Biomedicines is hiring a co-op to join the in vivo team. You will support the development of biologics by helping with studies on antibodies and related molecules. This role involves working with a supervisor to plan and run experiments that investigate the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and efficacy of proprietary therapeutics. You will work both independently and with the team to meet group goals.
What you'll do#
- Plan, design, and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
- Assist with surgical procedures, including dissections and organ collection.
- Perform molecular biology assays such as RNA and protein preparation, real-time PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and western blot.
- Keep accurate and thorough records of laboratory procedures in an electronic notebook.
- Present your data in departmental and company-wide meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in biology, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
- Experience with basic animal husbandry, handling, and dosing by multiple routes.
- Practical knowledge of blood collection, anesthesia administration, surgical procedures, and tissue collection.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools like Excel and PowerPoint.
