About the role#
Amgen is seeking a Graduate Intern for the Technology, AI & Data team for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, remote internship provides hands-on experience in data engineering while working alongside lead architects, business subject matter experts, and data scientists. You will contribute to the design and development of end-to-end data pipelines and support infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the Enterprise Data Lake.
- Build new infrastructure and analytics tools using Python, SQL, and AWS.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate tasks and develop reusable frameworks.
- Participate in the design, build, and development of rapid Proof-of-Concept solutions and services.
What you'll need#
- Must be 18 years or older and hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Currently enrolled in an MBA, Master’s, PharmD, or Ph.D. program, having completed the first year of the program before the internship begins.
- Preference for students in a Master’s program with a concentration in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one coding language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or SQL.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or health care industry is preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently across functional lines and with diverse customers.
- Relevant coursework in areas such as Business Systems analysis, Agile or Lean methodologies, Software Development, Database Modeling, or Cloud application management.
Location & details#
- This position is fully remote within the United States.
- The internship is a full-time commitment for Summer 2027.
- Compensation is $35.34 to $41.20 per hour.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program. Sponsorship for future full-time employment is not provided.
