About the role#
As an Operations Intern at AmerisourceBergen, you will gain hands-on experience in a business-driven environment. This 10-week summer program aims to develop future supply chain leaders. You will work closely with a mentor to learn various business areas and functions within our distribution centers. At the end of the summer, you will report your accomplishments and learnings to the leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Gain an understanding of supply chain functions and disciplines through department rotations.
- Assist in the analysis and development of supply chain metrics and business processes.
- Manage time and effort on projects without constant supervision.
- Set and plan daily or weekly workloads to support business priorities.
- Organize and facilitate work team meetings, such as pre-shift briefings or roundtables.
- Build relationships with hourly team members, peers, and senior leadership.
- Develop interpersonal and communication skills to lead a frontline workgroup.
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and secure culture.
- Report findings to team members and management as required.
- Participate in training activities and developmental events.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management. Other related majors will be considered.
- Expected to graduate with a bachelor’s degree within one year of internship completion.
- Must not require sponsorship to work in the US now or in the future.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Proven leadership experience throughout your academic career.
- Ability to work in an unstructured environment and make tradeoff decisions quickly.
- Effective coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Flexibility to work across all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, to support 24/7 operations.
