About the role#
As an Operations Intern at AmerisourceBergen, you will work in a real-world, business-driven environment to develop your leadership skills. This 10-week summer program focuses on preparing future supply chain leaders through hands-on experience in our distribution centers. You will work closely with a mentor, manage projects, and lead teams while gaining exposure to various functions of our business. At the end of the program, you will present your accomplishments and findings to the leadership team.
What you'll do#
- Gain experience across multiple supply chain functions and business areas through rotations.
- Assist in the analysis and development of supply chain metrics and business processes.
- Manage daily and weekly department workloads to support business goals.
- Organize and facilitate team meetings such as pre-shift briefings and roundtables.
- Build professional relationships with hourly staff, peers, and senior leadership.
- Develop interpersonal skills to lead a frontline workgroup effectively.
- Participate in training activities, developmental events, and mentorship opportunities.
- Foster a safe, diverse, and inclusive work culture.
- Report findings to management and complete other duties as business needs require.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Organizational Leadership, or Business Management.
- Expected to graduate with a bachelor’s degree within one year of the internship completion.
- Proven leadership experience in projects or people management during your academic career.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in an unstructured environment and make quick decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective communication skills for both oral and written presentations.
- Must not require sponsorship to work in the US now or in the future.
- Willingness to learn, take risks, and step out of your comfort zone.
Location & details#
- Location: Lockbourne, Ohio (National Distribution Center).
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027).
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Schedule: You must be flexible to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to support our 24/7 operations.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
