About the role#
The American University Career Center and AU Abroad are looking for two student Digital Assets and Content Creators. You will help develop visual content to promote programs, resources, events, and student success stories. This role is a fit for students interested in graphic design, digital marketing, social media, branding, and visual storytelling.
What you'll do#
- Design graphics, social media posts, stories, digital signage, and promotional materials.
- Assist with content development for Instagram, LinkedIn, newsletters, and websites.
- Create print and digital marketing materials.
- Photograph AU Career Center and AU Abroad events, workshops, and student activities.
- Develop visual content that highlights student success stories and campus engagement.
- Organize digital assets while maintaining brand consistency.
- Contribute creative ideas for student engagement and outreach campaigns.
- Collaborate with staff and student team members on design projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an American University student.
- Strong written and visual communication skills.
- Experience with Adobe CC, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging social media platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to incorporate feedback.
- Commitment to American University branding and visual identity standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Junior or Senior undergraduate standing is preferred.
- Basic photography or video editing skills are a plus.
- A portfolio or work samples demonstrating design, branding, or digital content creation is preferred.
- Federal Work-Study (FWS) students are encouraged to apply.
Location & details#
- Location: Main Campus, Washington, DC (In-person in the Career Center office).
- Hours: 8 to 10 hours per week.
- Pay: $19.50 to $20.00 per hour.
- Status: Part-time.
- Start date: Candidates must be available to begin during the first week of the Fall 2026 semester.
