About the role#
This Legal Intern position joins the U.S. Tower division legal department. You will assist multiple legal teams by conducting research, writing, and reviewing agreements. The role covers various practice areas including contracting, compliance, zoning, mergers and acquisitions, and environmental law. You will work with supervisors and mentors to learn how the law intersects with business needs while gaining exposure to finance, landlord relations, and innovation functions.
What you'll do#
- Review, analyze, and summarize legal documents to understand contractual rights and obligations.
- Prepare drafts of legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Support and observe contract negotiations with customers and property owners.
- Conduct legal research and due diligence.
- Assist teams with resolving business and legal issues.
- Provide project and document management support to attorneys.
- Work with internal teams and external customers to address land-related issues that may impact licensing or ground lease negotiations.
- Manage other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an entering second- or third-year student in an ABA accredited Juris Doctor program.
- A minimum law school GPA of 3.0.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
- Self-motivation and a high level of enthusiasm.
- Willingness to learn and incorporate coaching into daily tasks.
- Prior real estate-related coursework or work experience is preferred.
