    About the role#

    APM Reports offers a full-time investigative fellowship based in Saint Paul. This position runs from January 4 to December 3, 2027. You will contribute to national investigative podcasts and produce short-form reporting for MPR News. The role involves hands-on participation in the editorial process, including table reads and group edits. This is a paid position with an hourly rate between $20 and $23, depending on your experience and education.

    What you'll do#

    • Pitch stories and conduct investigations.
    • File public records requests to obtain information.
    • Perform high-level research and distill complex information.
    • Gather and edit audio using ProTools.
    • Explore data journalism, including the use of artificial intelligence.
    • Present stories across podcasts, radio, video, digital, data visualizations, and newsletters.
    • Participate in on-the-job training and professional development sessions.

    What you'll need#

    • A completed bachelor's degree or at least two years of professional experience in journalism or communications.
    • Reporting experience.
    • Availability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • A demonstrated interest in audio and investigative journalism.
    • A strong interest in news reporting.

    • Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Duration: Full-time throughout Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall 2027.
