About the role#
The American Heart Association is hiring an Operations Intern to support the Global Corporate Relations team. This role focuses on project management, administrative efficiency, and data maintenance. You will gain hands-on experience within a non-profit health organization while contributing to operational workflows.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the end-to-end contracting process, including template preparation and tracking approval status.
- Maintain the contract repository and update internal records.
- Handle basic invoice processing and verify coding for finance reviews.
- Reconcile budget line items and assist with monthly expense tracking and reporting.
- Enter and update data in Smartsheet, Salesforce, and Excel.
- Respond to internal requests for documentation and archive retrieval.
- Participate in process improvement discussions and pilot small automation enhancements.
- Provide general administrative support, such as scheduling meetings and preparing materials.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a senior or graduate student in business, non-profit management, or health administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of Canva.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
- Experience with Smartsheet, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Reliable Wi-Fi connection.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This internship is fully remote.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 25, 2027, to May 7, 2027).
- Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
- Availability: Minimum of 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm.
