About the role#
The Human Resources Leadership Development Program Internship is a summer program for master’s and MBA students. You will join the Colleague Experience Group (CEG) to contribute to strategic initiatives. This role provides exposure to senior leadership and the diverse functional areas within the HR function at American Express. At the end of the program, you will present your insights and recommendations to the Chief Colleague Experience Officer and the Senior Leadership Team.
What you'll do#
- Develop and manage project plans to drive execution.
- Analyze data and synthesize information, including stakeholder perspectives and AI-enabled insights.
- Create executive-level communications and presentations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
- Challenge the status quo and contribute new ideas.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time master’s or MBA program in Human Resources or an HR-related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- 3-5 years of professional work experience with demonstrated leadership or project ownership.
- Strong project management skills and experience managing complex projects with competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- A feedback-oriented mindset, self-awareness, and a commitment to a career in HR.
- Ability to lead people, projects, or initiatives through change.
