About the role#
This internship focuses on commercial programs and producer engagement within the cattle industry. You will gain hands-on experience supporting commercial cattlemen while developing skills in customer relations, data management, and industry communication. The position is based at our headquarters in Saint Joseph, Missouri, and includes opportunities for travel.
What you'll do#
You will work directly with our team to support commercial producers and improve data usage. Your daily tasks include:
- Assisting with outreach calls for AngusLink, the Genetic Merit Scorecard, and GeneMax Advantage.
- Collaborating with livestock video sale companies to market AngusLink enrolled calves.
- Summarizing and analyzing sale premiums for AngusLink calves.
- Supporting producers with performance data entry and the organization of herd records.
- Explaining program benefits, including the Genetic Merit Scorecard and GeneMax Advantage, to producers.
- Promoting involvement in the AAA commercial pathway program.
- Identifying herds that need support and providing training assistance.
- Providing feedback on our internal data entry systems.
- Collaborating on research projects and contributing to educational resources.
- Participating in herd visits and industry tours.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Agriculture-related major.
- A strong interest in the cattle industry.
- A desire to support producers and help them succeed.
- Interest in data analysis and how it informs decision-making.
- A willingness to travel as part of the internship.

- Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri.
- Term: Summer 2027 (approximately late-May to mid-August).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
