    Job Description: Curious about the inner workings of the cattle industry? Interested in gaining real-world experience supporting producers and learning how data drives decision-making? Ready for a summer internship that’s customized to your interests and helps build your professional skillset? The American Angus Association is offering a summer internship focused on commercial programs and producer engagement. This opportunity is designed to give students hands-on exposure to the Association’s work with commercial cattlemen, while building skills in customer relations, data support, and industry communication. The internship spans from approximately late-May to mid-August at the American Angus Association headquarters in St. Joseph, Mo., just north of Kansas City. Some travel will be necessary. Specific start date will be determined based on the applicant's availability. Responsibilities: - Assist with outreach efforts, including calls for AngusLink℠ and Genetic Merit Scorecard℠. - Collaborate with livestock video sale companies marketing AngusLink enrolled calves - Summarize and analyze sale premiums for AngusLink calves - Gain understanding of Genetic Merit Scorecard to explain to commercial producers utilizing program - Promote AAA commercial pathway program involvement to commercial cattle producers - Support producers with performance data entry and herd record organization. - Assist with outreach efforts, including calls for AngusLink℠, Genetic Merit Scorecard℠, and GeneMax Advantage. - Gain understanding of Genetic Merit Scorecard and GeneMax Advantage to explain to commercial producers utilizing program. - Participate in herd visits and potentially industry tours. - Provide feedback on data entry systems. - Help identify herds needing support and offer training assistance. - - Collaborate with team members on research projects. - Contribute to educational resources. Intern can expect to: - Gain hands-on experience in commercial cattle operations. - Build relationships with producers and Association staff. - Learn about genetic evaluation, research, and data systems. - Strengthen communication and customer service skills. - Explore career paths within the beef industry. - Receive mentorship and support throughout the internship. - Attend an industry event and related events throughout the summer.
