About the role#
Friona Industries LP offers a Summer 2027 internship program for students interested in the cattle feeding industry. This is a full-time, paid, on-site program based in Amarillo, Texas. You will work alongside experienced team members to learn feedyard operations from the ground up. The program includes a rotational work schedule where you will experience different departments and their specific daily routines.
What you'll do#
- Participate in cattle processing, receiving, and animal health practices.
- Gain experience with pen maintenance, equipment, and water systems.
- Learn feed receipt, processing, mixing, and management.
- Develop an understanding of bunk management and feed delivery.
- Gain exposure to records, data, reporting, and administrative processes.
- Complete a rotational work schedule across multiple departments.
- Execute an assigned project at the feedyard.
- Travel to the Corporate Office to present your final project to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Agriculture.
- Motivation to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Readiness to gain meaningful industry experience.
- Willingness to work at one of our locations in Kansas or Texas.
- Seniors receive priority consideration.
