About the role#
Amca is hiring production operations interns for Summer 2027 to help maintain efficient, reliable output across our factories. This role focuses on hands-on work to keep components moving through production. You will spend significant time on the floor to learn our processes and identify ways to improve them. We look for interns who want to get their hands dirty and contribute to real production goals.
What you'll do#
- Work hands-on in machining, assembly, and test to understand how parts are made and where processes break down.
- Identify bottlenecks, rework, and wasted motion, then work with operators and engineers to resolve these issues.
- Support Protoshop programs as products move from design through build, testing, and qualification.
- Develop and document standard work, fixtures, tooling, and process improvements to increase speed and repeatability.
- Track metrics including throughput, cycle time, yield, and scrap to verify the impact of your changes.
- Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, quality, and program management to keep builds on schedule.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A genuine desire to get your hands dirty in a factory environment.
- You must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR regulations.
