    About the role#

As a Supply Chain Engineering intern, you will own the reliability of hardware sourced externally and manage build-to-print customer contracts. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of these parts, from initial contract review and schedule creation to ensuring final production meets customer requirements. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure that our hardware meets strict quality standards.

    What you'll do#

    • Serve as the product owner for assigned build-to-print contracts from award through rate production.
    • Decompose technical data packages and contracts into requirements matrices and flow them to relevant teams.
    • Build and manage program schedules, including long lead procurement, tooling, and delivery milestones.
    • Act as the primary technical interface for customers regarding status, manufacturability, and inspections.
    • Manage supplier-caused defects end to end, including containment, disposition, and root cause analysis.
    • Issue and verify supplier corrective and preventive action requests.
    • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers, including conducting capability assessments and onsite audits.
    • Lead first article inspections and ensure production readiness for new parts.
    • Provide technical support at supplier sites regarding manufacturing methods, tooling, and inspection.
    • Analyze supplier quality and delivery data to mitigate supply chain risks like capacity constraints or obsolescence.
    • Collaborate with design and build engineers to translate design intent into clear supplier requirements.

    What you'll need#

    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or STEM discipline.
    • At least 2 years of professional or internship experience in quality, manufacturing, process, or supply chain engineering.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
    • Experience owning a project or program with a hard external commitment.
    • Comfort communicating directly with customers and suppliers regarding technical and schedule commitments.
    • Preferred: 4+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or a regulated hardware industry.
    • Preferred: Experience with technical program management, NPI, or specific commodities like machined parts, avionics, or injection molding.
    • Preferred: Knowledge of AS9100 or comparable quality management systems.

    Location & details#

    • Location: El Segundo, California.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: This is a full-time, on-site role requiring five days per week in the office.
    • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% to supplier facilities, factories, and customer sites.
