About the role#
The Commercial Intern will support our commercial and industrial real estate portfolio. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will gain hands-on experience in property management and business operations. This is a full-time, paid internship designed for students seeking a 4-month practical placement.
What you'll do#
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Commercial Property Management team.
- Manage general office tasks such as filing, scanning, mail, and document organization.
- Maintain tenant files, lease records, service contracts, insurance certificates, and FOB records.
- Enter and update data in Yardi and internal systems.
- Monitor accounts receivable reports and prepare follow-up information for manager review.
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and related documentation.
- Communicate with tenants and vendors to respond to inquiries.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the 3rd or 4th year of a university degree program, preferably in business, commerce, real estate, urban land economics, or accounting.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to build cooperative working relationships with teams, tenants, and vendors.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with high attention to accuracy, spelling, and grammar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- An interest in commercial real estate, property management, or business operations.
- Previous office, administrative, customer service, or volunteer experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with Yardi or similar property management software is a plus.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia.
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
- Compensation is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.
