About the role#
The Marketing Intern supports the communications function at Alzheimer's Los Angeles. You will coordinate content across departments, capture stories from the community, and assist with an organization-wide rebranding initiative. This role provides hands-on experience in social media, email marketing, and brand strategy while supporting the mission to serve families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate the collection of social media content and ideas from program and department staff.
- Build and implement a LinkedIn content strategy by drafting, scheduling, and posting updates.
- Identify and gather content for the monthly email newsletter.
- Attend education and outreach events to take photographs and gather stories, quotes, and highlights.
- Support the rebranding process by documenting existing materials and assets that require updating.
- Partner with staff to collect client and family stories for use in marketing and fundraising.
- Build and maintain a PR outreach list of local newspapers and community publications.
- Draft and distribute press releases for key programs and events.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to interview staff and families with empathy.
- Basic photography skills and comfort attending in-person events.
- Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Highly organized with the ability to follow up across departments to meet deadlines.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid role requiring some in-person work in the Los Angeles area.
- The position is part-time, approximately 15 hours per week.
- The term runs through mid-December 2026.
- This is a paid internship at $19.00 per hour.
