About the role#
The Marketing & Press Intern will gain experience in press, marketing, and advertising for national touring productions. This internship is for the Fall 2026 term, running from September through December for a maximum of 12 weeks. The role requires a commitment of 20 hours per week and is unpaid, as participants must be able to receive academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Research and prepare press clippings for select shows.
- Create and maintain marketing and press trackers detailing marketing figures and events across the country.
- Attend marketing and press calls with different cities to learn about various processes and relationships.
- Participate in brainstorm sessions regarding target audiences, media mixes, creative assets, and marketing strategies for upcoming tours.
- Proofread Playbills, press releases, media guides, and marketing guides.
- Manage edits on specific show websites.
- Monitor city websites and social channels to ensure brand consistency regarding production photos, copy, and logo usage.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Ability to receive academic credit for the internship.
- Minimum age of 18 by the start date.
- Background in communications, journalism, marketing, advertising, or theatre management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of current social media platforms and trends.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills.
- Attention to detail.
