About the role#
As a Student Intern on the Distribution Team, you will support growth and retention by applying data, technology, and analytical tools to generate insights on broker and sales performance. This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside risk consulting, underwriting, and operational support professionals to understand how insurance works in the real world. This is a full-time, 10-week summer program.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the Distribution Team and participate in job shadows, internal meetings, and speaking engagements.
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards in Excel, Power BI, and Salesforce to track key performance indicators.
- Analyze data across brokers, lines of business, and zones to identify trends and surface growth, cross-sell, and up-sell opportunities.
- Collaborate on a proof of concept for a new data, analytics, or AI-driven tool or research project.
- Use AI tools to automate routine reporting and improve sales process efficiency.
- Support data quality in Salesforce to ensure sales data remains accurate and usable.
- Identify and analyze risk and loss control advice while gaining exposure to underwriting risk selection and retention.
- Communicate progress and findings to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or college, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R through coursework or projects.
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence and its potential business applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with attention to detail.

- Location: New York, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027 (starting early July).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: This position is paid at an hourly rate of $30.00.
