About the role#
ANC Timber Ltd. is hiring a Woodlands Summer Student for the 2027 field season. This position offers exposure to activities ranging from block planning and harvesting to reforestation and regeneration measurements. You will work alongside experienced forest professionals in Whitecourt, Alberta.
What you'll do#
- Follow all safety and environmental standards.
- Conduct survival and regeneration surveys.
- Participate in growth and yield measurements.
- Perform quality checks for planting and seeding.
- Monitor and assess stand tending and vegetation management.
- Assist with block and road layout and creek assessments.
- Complete other tasks as identified.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary Forestry or Natural Resources Management program or relevant work experience.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Physical fitness to work in a forested environment for long periods.
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and GPS technology.
- Ability to work independently.
