About the role#
Albedo is seeking a Build Engineer Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Broomfield, Colorado. You will work directly with engineers and technicians to support the assembly of Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) satellite hardware and ground support equipment.
What you'll do#
- Perform hands-on mechanical and electromechanical assembly of flight hardware and ground support equipment.
- Contribute to the design and development of production workspaces, tooling, and inventory management systems.
- Create, update, and refine work instructions, build documentation, and configuration tracking to ensure repeatable, high-quality results.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify and implement design-for-manufacturability and design-for-assembly improvements.
- Support outsourced manufacturing efforts, including kit preparation, documentation handoff, and post-build reviews.
- Maintain lab organization, tooling readiness, and safety compliance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience building or assembling mechanical or electromechanical systems, such as through personal projects, robotics teams, or rocketry.
- Proficiency with common mechanical tools and basic measurement equipment including calipers, torque tools, and multimeters.
- Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or CREO.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality, repeatable builds.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and vendors.

- Compensation: Paid position ($25-29 per hour).
