About the role#
This is a long-term, full-time internship based in Wichita, Kansas. You will work on-site to support aircraft structural design engineering. This role involves tasks related to design, static analysis, and fatigue or damage tolerance analysis for metallic and composite aircraft components.
What you'll do#
- Perform design engineering activities to support the production of aircraft or in-service aircraft.
- Develop design data sets, including 3D modeling, 2D drafting, Bills of Material, and Change Notes.
- Conduct detail part modeling, sizing, layout maturation, and trade study analysis.
- Support modifications or repair activities.
- Apply technical principles to solve routine problems and communicate work status to your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Ability to work on-site in the Wichita, KS metro area for multiple semesters.
- Basic knowledge of classical and numerical Finite Element stress analysis methods.
- A basic understanding of design principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite.
