About the role#
This internship provides a practical look at the daily work of an Insurance Officer. You will build sales skills, manage portfolios, and work with a team to support local agricultural communities. You will contribute to real projects throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Observe sales and prospecting calls led by Insurance Officers.
- Learn techniques for finding new customers and promoting insurance products.
- Help coordinate insurance programs within assigned areas.
- Gain knowledge of multi-peril and hail insurance products.
- Assist with office procedures, mailings, and special projects.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in public activities to represent the organization.
- Observe various support roles to understand how the business functions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelors or master degree program in Ag Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong communication skills and a clear interest in ag finance and credit.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.

- Location: Perry, Iowa.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time and paid.
- Travel: You must be available to travel to Omaha, Nebraska, three times for program events. Travel expenses are covered.
