About the role#
This internship supports the Real Assets Client Strategy team at Aegon Asset Management. You will work with analysts to collect and synthesize data on commercial real estate, capital markets, and the macroeconomy. The role provides exposure to the investment research process through mentorship and direct participation in team strategy sessions.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data to identify trends in commercial real estate performance and portfolio positioning.
- Create charts, tables, and visuals to summarize economic and portfolio-level data.
- Assist in the preparation of memos, presentations, and client reports.
- Maintain and update financial models, dashboards, and real estate data files.
- Review property, loan, or fund-level data to support internal reporting and investment discussions.
- Attend internal meetings and shadow full-time analysts to observe investment research in practice.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a degree program for Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Note: This position is not available for students who have already completed their undergraduate education or who will graduate before the internship ends.
Location & details#
- Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- Schedule: This is a paid, full-time position starting in January 2027 and ending in August 2027. It requires a 20-hour work week during the school semester and full-time hours during the summer.
- Modality: Hybrid. You must be able to work from our Cedar Rapids office.
