About the role#
Aegon Asset Management is hiring up to five full-time interns for the Real Assets group. This program runs from January 2027 through August 2027. You will work 40 hours per week in a hybrid environment, splitting time between the office and home. Please note that this opportunity is only open to students who have not yet completed their undergraduate degree and will not graduate before the internship concludes.
What you'll do#
Interns will be split between the Real Assets Debt and Real Assets Equity groups.
In the Debt group, you will:
- Assist Loan Officers with the deployment of capital into commercial real estate loans.
- Participate in meetings and conference calls to communicate loan terms and negotiate applications.
- Help Debt Asset Managers handle special borrower requests and manage troubled loans.
- Maintain loan management systems and process property inspection reports.
In the Equity group, you will:
- Support the management of a low-income housing portfolio.
- Analyze and review quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Assist with investor due diligence and general portfolio management tasks.
- Participate in meetings to discuss investment opportunities and risk management strategies.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment at a college or university pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a similar field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented mindset.
- Reliable and dependable work ethic.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

- Locations: Cedar Rapids, Iowa or Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: January 2027 to August 2027.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
