About the role#
Aegon Asset Management is hiring a Research Intern to support the Real Assets Client Strategy team. This role involves collecting, organizing, and synthesizing data regarding the macroeconomy, commercial real estate, and capital markets. You will work from our Cedar Rapids office in a hybrid capacity. The internship runs from January 2027 through August 2027, requiring a 20-hour work week during the school semester and full-time hours during the summer.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data to support market and portfolio research efforts.
- Aggregate economic, real estate, and portfolio-level data into charts, tables, and visuals.
- Help prepare presentations, memos, and client reports.
- Maintain and update real estate data files, dashboards, and financial models.
- Attend internal meetings and shadow full-time analysts to observe the investment research process.
- Assist with portfolio analysis projects, including reviewing property, loan, and fund-level data.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a college or university pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Note that this position is not available for students who have already completed their undergraduate education or who will graduate before the internship concludes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
