About the role#
This 11-week internship provides a look at how a large organization manages risk, operations, and financial integrity. You will join a team to support audit and compliance projects while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools. The program includes professional development sessions, exposure to executive leadership, and insights into different business units.
What you'll do#
- Test internal controls by reviewing documentation and tracing transactions.
- Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control assessments by organizing evidence and documenting testing.
- Analyze financial and business-process data using Excel and Power BI.
- Identify trends, exceptions, and potential control gaps.
- Document processes, prepare audit workpapers, and summarize findings.
- Use Microsoft Copilot and AI tools to draft documentation, summarize information, and analyze data.
- Assist with compliance and governance reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Completion of at least two upper-level (300 or 400-level) courses in accounting, auditing, information systems, or data analytics before the start date.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and Excel from projects, coursework, or previous internships.
- Ability to document processes clearly and think through compliance and internal control questions in a structured way.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.
- Experience with Power BI, AI tools, or prompt engineering is a plus.
- Coursework or project experience in auditing, internal controls, or risk and compliance.
Location & details#
- Location: Boca Raton, Florida.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17 to July 29).
- Modality: Hybrid (In-person Monday through Thursday, remote on Fridays).
- Compensation: $24 per hour for Bachelor’s students; $28 per hour for Master’s students.
