About the role#
This internship provides nursing students with hands-on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will work within the Community Residence and Day Habilitation programs to provide clinical and nursing support. This role requires enrollment in a degree program that grants credit hours for the internship.
What you'll do#
- Observe and assist with medication counts and medication pours.
- Ensure client appointments are scheduled.
- Assist in charting client medical information.
- Provide medication and wellness education to patients.
- Participate in daily nursing huddles and weekly supervision sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an associate level nursing student.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to move throughout the workday and follow individuals.
- Capability to sit or stand at a computer for moderate periods and work in an open floor plan.
- Ability to work within three feet of individuals and occasionally lift over 15 pounds.
- Prior nursing experience is considered a plus.

- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between Monday and Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Term: Rolling.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
