About the role#
As an International Editor, you will serve as a division editor for the site under the direction of the publisher. This is a 12-month internship position. It is unpaid and can be used for class credit.
What you'll do#
- Select and supervise three site contributors.
- Work with contributors to develop articles from initial ideas to final drafts using AP Style.
- Review and approve content for the site.
- Cross-check citations and examine all references.
- Disseminate assignments that fit the target demographic.
- Assist in creating and sharing staff information.
- Contribute regular content as needed.
What you'll need#
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of the AP Style writing format.
- Previous editorial or content management experience.
- Ability to oversee the development of social and political news features.
- Strong time management skills and a history of meeting deadlines.
- Current enrollment in or graduation from a program in Journalism, English, or Political Science.
Location & details#
This role is remote. While residents of New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, and Chicago are encouraged to apply, location is not a requirement.
