About the role#
As an Underwriting Intern, you will work within the Zurich Underwriting organization. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside experienced professionals on projects that support business growth and risk management strategies. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Learn underwriting fundamentals through mentorship and training.
- Support business unit financial reporting and analysis.
- Prepare financial and operational reports using business intelligence tools.
- Assist with pipeline management and underwriting operations.
- Participate in meetings with clients, brokers, and stakeholders.
- Review loss summaries and assist with account analysis.
- Gain exposure to customer, broker, and partner relationships.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program with plans to be enrolled in Fall 2027.
- Completed at least two years of college coursework (rising Junior or Senior).
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Problem solving skills in a customer-focused environment.
- Involvement in leadership roles, campus organizations, or extracurricular activities.
- Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. indefinitely (sponsorship is not provided).

- Hourly pay range: $21.00 to $23.00.
